Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) is a private university founded by GERMI, on April 4, 2007. Its former name was Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU). It is located in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, India. PDEU is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is one of the prestigious universities that offer quality education with wonderful infrastructure, it maintains High-quality audiovisual classrooms which make students comfortable to grasp everything clearly. PDEU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses under the following schools. 

It is the only university in Gujarat, granted graded autonomy by UGC. NAAC accredited PDEU with an ‘A’ grade & CGPA of 3.39 out of 4.0. PDEU has also been recognized by the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, Govt. Of India. In 2023, it obtained the 94th NIRF rank in the management category.

PDEU (Pandit Deendayal Energy University) offers various courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses in multiple disciplines. The list of Courses offered by PDEU consists of B.A, BBA, B.Tech, B.Com, B.Sc at the undergraduate level. At the postgraduate level, it provides M.Tech, MA and MBA. The duration of the B.Tech program is 4 years and PG programs are 2 years.

PDEU Admission is done through online mode. Students who want to apply are required to visit the official website of the university and submit their applications. PDEU has a large campus spanning across 100 acres of lush green and serene environment. The university maintains its high reputation by providing several facilities and amenities to students all over its campus. These include state of the art infrastructure, accommodation and recreational facilities. Some of the said provisions offered by the university are as follows:  

• Infrastructure: The campus of PDEU consists of 21 Buildings, 57 Lecture Halls, 43 Laboratories/Workshops and 1,320 units of Laboratory Equipment. The infrastructure featured state of the art Labs, equipped
  with the latest technology, simulation models. IT systems are equipped with the latest hardware & software and Wi-fi connectivity
• Library: The university has a well-stocked library with a large collection of 57,550 Books + 13,100 E-books, 150 Print Journals/Periodicals & Magazines + 5500 e-journals, 5,690 Digital Material (CDs, DVDs), 42 Daily National & International News-Papers, Full Access to Scopus & Web of Science.
• Sports: The institute offers sports and recreational facilities to students on the campus. There are also 3 fully equipped gymnasiums. 
• Hostel: Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students. There are a total of 1,042 Hostel Rooms with a residential capacity of 2,680 students.

Ques. How is PDEU?

Ans. PDEU is one of the most well reputed universities of its kind. Ans. PDEU has a dedicated placement cell which focuses on providing placement opportunities to students every year. During the previous placement season, a package of INR 19.20 LPA was offered by ONGC to 11 B.Tech students. The highest CTC offered in MBA placement was INR 18.4 LPA. Some of the companies recruiting MBA students include GAIL, Adani Ports, Reliance, KPMG, Accenture, Infosys, Chargein and several others. 

Ques. How to apply for admission to PDEU?

Ans. Candidates need to fill up the form ONLINE at the official website. The details filled in the application form must be correct. The candidate shall be required to make online payment of INR 1,000/- through internet banking/debit card/credit card towards the Registration fee. When the form will be filled, take a printout of it for future use. 

Ques. How ragging exists in PDEU campus?

Ans. The PDEU strictly prohibits ragging. Students are forbidden from participating in any form of ragging both inside and outside the university campus, as instructed by the UGC and under the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

Ques. Does PDEU offer hostel facilities?

Ans. Depending on availability, PDEU provides on-campus furnished hostel rooms on a three-seat basis. For female students, separate hostels are available. In order to accommodate the students' general needs, there are hostel buildings with Wi-Fi, these consist of on-call medical services, emergency medical facilities, and a lounge with all the necessary amenities for group activities.
