Asansol Engineering College is a self financed institute and was established in 1998. The college is spread over a campus of around 17 acres and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). It has also been approved by AICTE. The institute offers courses both in UG and PG domain such as B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, etc.

The college offers UG and PG programmes with various specializations. The admission to B.Tech, MCA and M.Tech is made through entrance exams and for other courses; the college follows a merit based system for selection. The basic eligibility for UG courses is that the students should have completed 10+2 and for PG courses the students must have completed their Graduation.
