About JMI New Delhi

Established in 1920, Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university which is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Jamia Millia Islamia offers Diploma, B.A., B.F.A, B.Com (Hons), B.B.A, B.Lib.I.Sc, B.E/B.Tech, M.Ed, M.A, M.Arch, M.F.A and Ph.D programmes. JMI New Delhi offers courses in three modes: full-time, part-time, and distance. JMI New Delhi admission to B.E/B.Tech at JMI New Delhi is offered based on JEE Main scores. Admission to B.A., B.H.M, B.Sc, B.Voc, B.Sc, B.C.A, B.B.A, B.Ed, M.A, M.Sc, and other programmes at JMI New Delhi are based on a written entrance exam administered by the university. Based on the results of the entrance exam, the university will create a merit list, which will be followed by the counselling process. Shortlisted candidates must then appear and qualify for the interview. Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has a placement cell that welcomes all organisations to pre-placement talks and provides personality development programmes, workshops, and other assistance to the students. The university offers public and private scholarships to the JMI New Delhi students.

According to the Jamia Millia Islamia placement report (data taken from NIRF 2023  report), out of 997 eligible students for JMI UG placements, 298 were offered job offers with a median salary of Rs. 4,50,000 while 699 opted for higher studies. For the advancement of Islamic Studies and Arabic language, there are many JMI New Delhi scholarships available. The Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana offers students access to a number of scholarships, including the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students and the Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Jamia Millia Islamia's facilities include a computer centre, separate hostels for boys and girls, a cafeteria, a gym, a hospital, an auditorium, departmental laboratories, and a sports complex for all major sports and fitness centres.
