JEE MAIN EXAM 2025

JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam will be conducted from January 22 to 30, 2025 while Session 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. JEE Main admit card 2025 will be out on January 19. The JEE Main Phase 1 exam for Paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech) will be held on 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29th January, 2025. This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced several key changes to the registration and exam process

The NTA has decreased the number of JEE Mains 2025 international exam cities from 24 to 14. International locations that have been removed this year include Sri Lanka, Qatar, UAE (Dubai), Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Aadhaar-based authentication has been made mandatory for all candidates, which is a measure aimed at resolving identity verification issues from previous years. In another major update, the exam pattern for Paper 1 (B.Tech) has been revised -now, the number of numerical value type (NVT) questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics have increased from 5 to 10 per subject. This change was made after considering the preference of 70% top-ranking candidates, who preferred numerical-based questions.

Moreover, candidates will now be able to correct their application details for a fee of INR 200. This change is made for the 15% of applicants who made last-minute changes in the past. The registration deadline is very near- the payment will be due by 11:50 PM on 22 November 2024. The exam will be held in two sessions: the first from 22 to 31 January 2025, and the second in April 2025.

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), popularly called JEE Main, is the exam conducted for admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. The JEE Main exam is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, conducted for admission to IITs.

JEE Main is held twice a year, which gives students two opportunities to secure a good score. Students have the option to appear in one or both attempts.

Candidates seeking admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to qualify the JEE Main by securing the minimum cutoff marks. The competition is intense, with lakhs of students appearing each year, making it essential for aspirants to prepare diligently.

The JEE Main 2025 exam will consist of three papers:

Paper 1 for admission to BE/BTech courses. It includes questions from classes 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

Paper 2 A and 2B for admission to BArch and BPlan courses respectively. Paper 2A includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing while Paper 2B consists of Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning-based questions.

The NTA JEE Mains 2025 exam will be computer-based, except for the Drawing section of Paper 2, which is pen-and-paper-based. The NTA had earlier announced JEE Main 2025 changes in the exam pattern. As per the new exam pattern, section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam will now have only 5 questions per subject, and students need to answer all 5 questions without any facility of choice.
